Humberto Alarcón

Born in Mexico City in 1990, singer Humberto Hernández Alarcón began his musical studies at the Centro de Educación Artística of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes and continued his studies at the Escuela Superior de Música. His repertoire includes folk songs and traditional songs with folkloric rhythms of Latin America as well as concert singing and Latin American baroque. He collaborated with the Academy of Early Music of the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and was 2014 soloist of the orchestra “La Galatea”, which dealt with the repertoire of Mexican and Latin American composers. As a vocalist of Latin American music, he has participated in various national and international festivals.
His passion for the bolero led Humberto to participate in renowned bolero competitions. In 2015 he was finalist of the First National Contest of Young Interpreters of Bolero and in 2017 of the IV National Contest of Bolero in Nuevo Casas Grandes. In addition to his work as a singer, he is the presenter of the Latin American folklore radio programme of UCRadio, a radio station of the Universidad de la Comunicación.
